Barnwell Street

BY CAR
Any interstate or other highway leading you to I-26, I-77, or I-20 toward Columbia, SC will get you to USC. Here are directions for several routes:

I-20 West from Florence
Take SC 277 (Exit 73) toward Columbia until it becomes Bull Street. Follow Bull Street until it intersects with Pendleton Street. Turn LEFT onto Pendleton Street and follow until you reach intersection of Barnwell Street. Turn RIGHT onto Barnwell Street. The Capstone House will be on your LEFT.
I-20 East from Augusta
Take Exit 58 (US 1 toward West Columbia); stay on this highway which becomes Meeting Street and then becomes Gervais Street. Follow Gervais Street until you reach Barnwell Street and turn RIGHT. Follow Barnwell Street until you cross Pendleton Street. The Capstone House will be on your LEFT.
I-26 East from Spartanburg
Follow I-26 toward downtown Columbia and exit at Huger Street. Turn LEFT onto Gervais Street and continue until you reach Barnwell Street and turn RIGHT. Follow Barnwell Street until you cross Pendleton Street. The Capstone House will be on your LEFT.
I-26 West from Charleston
Take Exit 111-B (US 1) at the USC sign. This highway becomes Meeting Street and then Gervais Street. At intersection of Gervais Street and Barnwell Street, take a RIGHT. Follow Barnwell Street until you cross Pendleton Street. The Capstone House will be on your LEFT.
US 76/378 from Sumter
The street name will change from Sumter Highway to Garners Ferry Road to Devine Street. When Devine Street intersects with Harden Street turn RIGHT onto Harden. At the stop light, turn LEFT onto Greene Street and follow until you reach Barnwell Street. Turn RIGHT onto Barnwell Street. The Capstone House will be on your RIGHT.
I-77 from Charlotte
Exit on SC 277 toward Columbia turns into Bull Street. Follow Bull Street until in intersects with Pendleton Street and turn LEFT. Follow Pendleton until you reach Barnwell Street intersection and turn RIGHT. The Capstone House will be on your LEFT.

BY AIR
Airlines serving the Columbia Metropolitan Airport include American Eagle, ComAir, Continental, Delta, and US Airways. The airport is a 20-minute drive from the University campus. Taxis, limousines, and rental cars are available. You may also call AAA Airport Shuttle Service at 1-800-342-3813.

FROM AIRPORT BY CAR
Turn RIGHT out of the parking lot area and continue to the stoplight; turn LEFT (Airport Blvd., SC 302). Follow this road until it intersects USC 21; bear LEFT at the light. At Knox Abbott Drive, bear RIGHT. On crossing the Congaree River Bridge, the street name changes to Blossom Street. Turn LEFT at Blossom Street and Assembly Street intersection. Follow Assembly Street until you can turn RIGHT onto Pendleton Street. Continue on Pendleton Street until you reach Barnwell Street intersection and turn RIGHT. The Capstone House will be on your LEFT.

BY BUS
The Greyhound Bus Lines station is near the intersection of Gervais and Harden Streets within eight blocks of the campus.

PARKING AT USC
Metered parking is available in the Pendleton Street and Bull Street Garages. Additional parking is also available behind the Carolina Coliseum and metered spaces on and around the USC campus. Lots designated as faculty/staff may be used on weekends. The USC Office of Student Orientation & Testing Services is not responsible for any loss, theft or parking tickets occurring during any programs. Cars parked illegally may be towed.
