TEST DESCRIPTION: The MAT (Miller Analogies Test)
consists of 120 multiple-choice items based on many areas
designed to measure scholastic aptitude at the graduate
level. Analogies appear in the standard format A:B::C:D. Any
of the four elements may be blank and the examinee should
select the option which completes the analogy. Scores are
based on the number of correctly answered items with NO
PENALTY FOR GUESSING.
Do not spend too much time on those items that cause you
trouble; you may return to them after you have gone through
the rest of the exam.
The MAT may be taken at USC up to THREE TIMES within a
twelve month period of time. Only the computerized version
is available; paper and pencil tests are no longer given.
The MAT is offered at USC by appointment only. The
total cost of the test is $75. To sign up for an
appointment, candidates must submit an
MAT registration form along with a $25 deposit.
Please fill in the form completely and include up to three
choices for your MAT appointment; you will be notified by
either e-mail or phone of your confirmed appointment. A
remaining balance of $50 is due at the time of your
appointment. All payments should be made by check or money
order payable to "USC Testing Services".
