Overnight Accommodations

Overnight accommodations are only available for summer orientation.

On-campus accommodations in Capstone House, a residence hall with suite-style rooms and baths, are available if you and/or your parents arrive the night before your Summer Orientation session. Sheets, pillow, blanket, and towels are provided. Fees for overnight accommodations are $25 per person per night. The preferred check-in time is between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. The online Orientation Date Request on VIP includes Overnight Reservation information; if you are mailing in your Orientation Date Request, be sure to also complete the Overnight Reservation and include all applicable fees. Summer overnight accommodation costs are separate from housing fees for the fall semester.

PLEASE NOTE: S.C. Code of Laws Ann. 23-3-465 (2006) states any person required to register under Article 7, Sex Offender Registry, is prohibited from living in campus student housing.

Students requesting accommodations who are not accompanied by a parent will be assigned a roommate from among other students of the same gender. If a student and parent wish to stay together, one room should be requested. Two rooms should be requested if the student and parent(s) wish to stay in separate rooms. A parent requesting a room separate from their student may be assigned another parent to share the room. All rooms are reserved for the night before your scheduled orientation session unless otherwise specified. If you need to arrive the night before Placement Testing or stay additional nights, be sure to indicate the relevant dates on your Orientation Date Request/Overnight Reservation Form. Due to space limitations, there is a three-night limit for on-campus accommodations. Children under 14 cannot be housed on-campus unless accompanied by a parent.

If your family prefers to stay off-campus, the Columbia area has a variety of hotels and inns.
