YOUR ORIENTATION DAY
Time: Check-in begins at 9:30 AM and your Orientation day lasts until approximately 4:00 PM.  We have planned a variety of activities for you, so plan to stay the whole time!
Place: Russell House University Union (1400 Greene Street), second floor lobby. 
Park:  Free parking is available at the corner of Park and Greene Streets, directly behind the Carolina Coliseum (approximately 4 blocks from the Russell House).  You may also park in the visitor levels of the Bull Street Garage (directly behind the Russell House, corner of Blossom and South Bull) for a fee of $1.00 per hour.

 PLACEMENT TESTING

Math exams are available online now and can be accessed at http://assess.math.sc.edu using your USC Network and password.  Please note, the Username is different from both your Student ID/SSN or VIP ID.  Once a student has logged in to VIP, he/she can find the Username and establish or reset a password under the TECHNOLOGY menu (“Show Me Network Username (Blackboard, University E-Mail, Dept. Networks), Password Reset”).

Foreign Languages exams in Spanish, French, German, and Latin will be administered on January 7 at 11:00 AM.   Report to the Moore School of Business (corner of Barnwell and Pendleton Streets) no later than10:45 AM.   Make sure to bring a drivers license or other photo ID and sharpened number two pencils. You should also know your social security number so you can put it on your answer sheet(s).   No registration is required other than signing up for Orientation.

REMINDERS:  IMPORTANT!  

• Make sure your immunization records are submitted to the immunization office at the Thomson Student Health Center PRIOR to coming to Orientation.  Failure to do will result in delays at orientation sessions and may hinder your ability to register for classes.
• There will be a lunch break, but lunch is not included in the Orientation fee. There are several dining options on or near campus. Be sure to plan appropriately.
   
• There is no Parent Orientation for January Orientation sessions.  Also note, friends or siblings are not allowed to accompany students during the Orientation process. 

• Remember to wear comfortable, layered clothing and walking shoes. Layers are recommended due to varying temperatures due to heating/air conditioning in the buildings.  A moderate amount of walking will be done throughout the day.
   
• Bring a drivers license or picture ID so you can have your Carolina Card (student ID) made.
